Description

Reporting directly to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician assists in performing work related to general facilities, maintenance, custodial services, special projects, building enhancements, and ensure that OSHA requirements are met. The Facilities Technician assists in conducting and recording safety walks, following up on safety issues to resolution, and ensuring the safety and well-being of the facilities and occupants. Assists the Facilities Manager in managing and scheduling routine tasks and prioritize responsibilities to meet the needs of the business. Assists in assuring that weekly, monthly, and annual safety procedures and walks are performed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs, painting, drywall, tile, carpet, landscaping repairs, and upgrades
  • Schedule and conduct preventative maintenance, document repairs, and track maintenance history
  • Assist with planning and executing projects, equipment shutdowns, and testing procedures
  • Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety regulations, including understanding and following SDS sheets, instructions, and using personal protective equipment as required
  • Learn and understand the building's mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical components, as they relate to facility operations

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • 3-5 years' experience in facilities or building maintenance
  • Knowledge of chemicals, cleaning supplies, safety precautions, and OSHA standards
  • Proficient in using tools materials, and methods for general building maintenance, including hand and power tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and smell continually.
  • Ability to stand, walk and reach frequently
  • Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel or crouch occasionally
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine
  • Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
  • During the annual conference the level of activity increases, and the amount of time spent standing and walking will be heavy

Salary Description
$18.00 per hour
