Select Sires, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our team as an Assistant Manager of Human Resources. This salaried, exempt position is at our Plain City, OH, facility and reports to the Manager of Human Resources.
Specific duties and responsibilities of an Assistant Manager of Human Resources include, but are not limited to,
- Serving as a positive representation of the Select Sires, Inc. Mission and Core Values.
- Ensuring that workforce activities are accurately reflected in job descriptions and other key documents (e.g., applicant tracking systems, job postings, performance management systems).
- Assisting the Manager of Human Resources in planning for internal or external resources to deliver appropriate short-term development interventions and activities.
- Managing employee onboarding and assimilation processes.
- Participating in the design and implementation of appreciation and recognition programs.
- Directly or indirectly designing, conducting, and analyzing employee surveys.
- Conducting effective background investigations.
- Identifying and selecting appropriate interview and selection techniques that best demonstrate a candidate's technical skills, organizational fit, and competency alignment.
- Implementing and utilizing technology to support effective and efficient approaches to sourcing, recruitment, evaluation, and selection.
- Seeking and utilizing various talent sources to recruit, screen, and evaluate applicants.
- Advising the Manager of Human Resources on any reports of unethical behavior or conflicts of interest that increase risk tolerance or risk of liability.
- Assisting the Manager of Human Resources in communicating critical information about risk mitigation to all stakeholders.
- Assisting the Manager of Human Resources in communicating information about workplace safety and security issues to all employees.
- Directly or indirectly developing, implementing, and overseeing the execution of programs, practices, and policies that mitigate risk and support organizational success.
- Maintaining accountability for recording and reporting workplace safety compliance.
- Ensuring vendor invoices are correctly coded and submitted for payment in a timely manner.
- Fielding human resource inquiries from employees, candidates, and former employees.
- Assist the Manager of Human Resources in processing payroll for employees in the organization.
- Cross-training of the Manager of Human Resources and the Human Resources Assistant
Typical office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Work schedules and duties are subject to change to meet departmental needs. Occasional travel, including overnights, may be required.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF AN ASSISTANT MANAGER OF HUMAN RESOURCES:
- Ability to speak Spanish
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE OF AN ASSISTANT MANAGER OF HUMAN RESOURCES:
- Knowledge of human resources subjects with the ability to keep abreast of new technologies
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources or 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, and training and development. Well-developed administrative skills. Strong management skills-principles and people.
- Familiarity with Paylocity Platform.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF AN ASSISTANT MANAGER OF HUMAN RESOURCES:
- Ability to occasionally (1-3 hours) stand/walk
- Ability to constantly (6-8 hours) sit
