Description

Position Summary

As the Program Manager, Customized Programs, you will leverage API’s cutting-edge tools and technology to design and manage customized, faculty-led programs that cater to the specific requirements of colleges, universities and partner institutions. You will collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and develop solution-oriented programs that meet their strategic and academic needs. Your role will include utilizing our extensive APIConnect libraries, housing options, and experiential-learning content to build high-quality programs and itineraries. This is a fast-paced, client-centric role that requires strong problem-solving skills, innovation, and a consultative approach.


Key Responsibilities

  • Customized Program Development: Utilize APIConnect libraries and data-driven insights to design unique programs that align with client goals, integrating academic, cultural and industry experiences, housing and other API services to deliver best in class programming and services. 
  • Consultative Engagement: Partner closely with institutions to understand their academic and strategic needs, providing expert advice and presenting tailored solutions that meet institutional goals and student learning outcomes.
  • Solution-Oriented Planning: Create programs that are flexible, scalable, and strategically aligned, ensuring health and safety standards are met and budgetary goals are achieved.
  • Leveraging Technology: Use API's proprietary tools to build bespoke itineraries efficiently and transparently.
  • Program Lifecycle Management: Oversee all phases of program management from lead generation through completion, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrating Technology: Conduct engaging technology demos showcasing the solution-based tools and APIConnect resources uniquely support customized program management.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work cross-functionally with client relations, product development, and operational teams to align efforts and deliver high-quality, custom solutions.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in Program or Project Management: Proven background in full lifecycle program or project management with a client-focused approach.
  • Client Engagement: Demonstrated success in listening to client needs, developing tailored solutions, and maintaining strong partnerships.
  • Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, meet established deadlines and navigate challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail and Efficiency: Excellent time management and organizational skills with attentive follow-through. Must be detail-oriented while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with leveraging technology and data for program or project management with the ability to work with various digital tools and software solutions.
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

  • Experience developing and sustaining professional relationships across diverse groups of people.
  • Experience in account management, sales or similar position managing multiple clients/customers, programs, projects, etc.
  • Previous experience working in higher ed, international education, student advising, or assisting faculty and their staff preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (particularly Excel and Sheets).
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce (or similar CRM).
  • Talent for organizing tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment, including excellent follow-up and meeting established deadlines.
  • Excellent time management skills, with consistent and attentive follow-through; must have an eye for detail while juggling other projects, deadlines and distractions.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write and speak clearly with people from around the world and across diverse groups of people.

KEY EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
  • Previous participation in a study/work/intern/volunteer abroad program preferred.
