NexGen Data Systems is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support a government customer. The ideal candidate will be experienced in developing customer requirements in an IaC pipeline, including GitLab using Terraform Coding, Jenkins for implementation, Juniper configuration, F5 configuration, and a strong background in AWS FedRamp Approved Services. Experience with AWS Redshift, Apache NiFi, Apache Tomcat, Ansible, Puppet, version control software, and the ability to frame ideas as systems and analyze the inputs, outputs, and processes is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will independently evaluate, select, adapt, and modify standard techniques and criteria to plan and conduct cybersecurity engineering assignments in conjunction with the appropriate platform teams. In this role, the DevSecOps Engineer will analyze complex features of the engineering solution and applies principles and practices of the discipline or devises new approaches in problem solutions as well as thorougly review all results from assigned tasks and determine if outputs are complete, correct, integrated with project objectives, and adequately documented. This position is fully remote with quarterly travel for Project Increment Planning.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Configure and manage secured cloud computing architecture such as Junipers and F5, along with core infrastructure applications such as Apache, BIND, Sendmail, SSH, Samba, PKI, Red Hat IDM, Red Hat Satellite, and Git.
- Responsible for IT management, monitoring tools and best practices (Puppet, Github, Ansible, etc.)
- Networking and Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA).
- Set up and configure Juniper and/or Transit Gateway, Policies, and Interfaces using the command line.
- Configure F5 virtual servers, policies, pools, SSL cert requests and acceptations.
- Build AWS infrastructure using GitLab Repos with Terraform Coding, using Jenkins as a pipeline.
- Responsible for meeting Program Increment (~12week) deadlines to create and enhance their assigned platform.
- Linux and Microsoft Server Administration
- Active Directory Capability.
- Execute all efforts in a collaborative and Scaled Agile fashion while adhering to government-mandated fixed due dates.
- Work with Agile teams (developers, testers, operators, and other production IT staff) to oversee code releases and deployments of capability.
- Foster agile relationship between software development and IT operations, establish and refine Continuous Integration (CI) and automation (key processes, release schedules, and infrastructure designs) to create and release regular updates to products as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Attend and Participate in Periodic Large Scale Agile Planning events.
- Support standard Agile ritual meetings (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) as necessary and assist Scrum teams in executing Sprints.

Required/Desired Skills:
- Top Secret clearance required
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliance required
- 5-10+ years of experience working in a professional IT environment with 5+ years of AWS experience (AWS experience is essential).
- Experience with a range of automation and configuration management tools, including but not limited to: Ansible, SCCM, Jenkins, Puppet, Git, GitLab, and others.
- Experience with AWS Redshift, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Lamda, ECS and other datastore cloud surrounding technologies.
- Solid knowledge of cloud Security skills, specifically on common controls for API security (SSO, OAuth, Threat Protection).
- Advanced Problem-Solving Skills and ability to deal with ambiguity.
