Description

NATURE OF WORK:

Performs varied work support in the Facilities Department.

SUPERVISION:

Work is performed under general supervision of the Lead Painter.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Prepares and cleans interior and exterior surfaces for painting.
  • Protect adjacent areas using drop clothes and disposable protection methods.
  • Assist with applying various surfacing products using brush, roll, and spray methods.
  • Assist with mixing paints and allied products; apply undercoats and finishes.
  • Assist with taping sheetrock joints using trowels, hawks, taping knives and other taping equipment.
  • Cleans brushes, containers, and other equipment, maintains paint room areas.
  • Clean all work areas after each workday and/or project completion as required.
  • Must be able to operate ladders, scissor lifts, boom trucks, and forklift.
  • Assistant with snow removal during inclement weather.
  • Ensure control/protection of company assets.
  • Work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • One year of painting experience preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills required.
  • Computer skills in MS Office.
  • Ability to work individually or in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow directions from others and have the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Constantly requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication.
  • Requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Requires repetitive movement of bending and crouching with the ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
  • Requires being outside in different weather conditions most of the shift.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

SALARY AND STATUS:

Hourly $19.94 - $28.92 Non-Exempt
