Compensation for this position is in the $50k range to $55k range depending on qualifications and experience.


Summary: Support the outreach efforts of American Foreign Service Protective Association (AFSPA), including Senior Living Foundation (SLF).


Duties and Responsibilities:


Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  1. Assist in creating advertising campaigns. *
  2. Maintain advertising schedules. This included monitoring contracted publications to ensure ads are run on time, and invoices are received. *
  3. Manage digital ad analytics and publications’ reaches to create targeted ad campaigns. *
  4. Produce webinars or other online forums. *
  5. Plan agency health events in conjunction with designated federal agency Human Resources points of contact.
  6. Attend and present at health events at federal agencies and on military bases. *
  7. Respond to Open Season health fair invitations and schedule AFSPA representatives to attend.
  8. Represent AFSPA and SLF at various meetings and events. *
  9. Assist with the planning and execution of organizational special events (i.e. AFSPA Annual Member Meeting, SLF’s Planning for Change, etc.). *
  10. Order and prepare promotional or event materials for Open Season trips, health fairs, receptions, seminars off-site meetings, and new hire classes.
  11. Assist the Outreach Manager with the expansion and execution of the AFSPA Ambassador Program.
  12. Assist with revisions of AFSPA and SLF brochures to include, but not limited to, Summary of Benefits, Overseas, and Medicare brochures.
  13. May assist with domestic and international travel arrangements, such as booking flights, cars, and making hotel, and restaurant reservations. This will involve ensuring all outreach promotional materials reach their destinations. *
  14. Order and prepare promotional or event materials for Open Season trips, health fairs, receptions, seminars off-site meetings, and new hire classes.
  15. Coordinate and support internal AFSPA meetings by preparing physical space and capturing meeting notes.
  16. Compile appropriate mailing lists for various correspondence to include Open Season mailing and email marketing campaigns. *
  17. Other duties as assigned*


Requirements


Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations or related field.
  • Minimum of one year marketing experience in an office environment.
  • Valid driver’s license or U.S. passport and reliable transportation.
  • Beginner knowledge of or experience in graphic design specifications, advertising scheduling, webinar development.
  • Beginner level of experience in Canva, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Above average oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.


Work Location:

The following are work locations that AFSPA utilizes: New Carrollton, Maryland Satellite Office; Washington, DC Headquarters; and hybrid remote. AFSPA does not have any fully remote positions. Work location will be assigned and/or changed based upon business need and at Management’s sole discretion.
