INTRODUCTION: 

The Benefits Program Coordinator is responsible for the administration of benefits offered by CTSI including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD and LTD for all designated Tribal entities. This position also provides administrative support for the Human Resources Director.  

DUTIES:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, such as group health, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance and wellness benefits.
  • Set up AFLAC appointments, hand out forms, complete and transmit claim forms.
  • Conduct benefits orientations in group settings and assists in enrollment.
  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system for payroll deduction.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide accurate eligibility information.
  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. 
  • Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives, when applicable.
  • Administer COBRA.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.
  • Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator and maintain current status on claims.
  • Monthly audit for CTSI health insurance billing.
  • Determine best path for and support employee in maximizing Tribal benefits.
  • Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
  • Attend and service as a voting member on monthly CTSI Fringe Benefits meeting. 
  • Handles complaints and resolves issues with TPA.
  • Manage the design and development of tools to assist employees in benefits selection, and to guide managers through compensation decisions.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Human Resources on employee issues.
  • Prepare check requests for all employee insurance payments.
  • Assist HR manager in completing benefits reporting requirements.
  • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA.
  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field and one year experience in benefits coordination -OR- an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Knowledge in:

  • Principles for personnel recruitment, selection, orientation and training.
  • Principles and procedures in compensation and benefits to include FMLA, STD, LTD, ADD, life insurance, AFLAC, unemployment, medical, dental and vision.
  • HRIS and payroll information systems.
  • Microsoft Office Suite or similar software products.
