We are searching for a solid professional to join our inTEST family as an Field Product Specialist that reports directly to Regional Sales Manager as assigned (Sales Management) with dotted-line to Field Service Manager and Texas Instruments TI Strategic Account Manager. This critical role supports the EMS business and is a part of the Electronic Test division. This division is on a trajectory of growth and provides an opportunity to support a global organization. This role is responsible for inTEST technical support, sales support, product applications and service in assigned accounts or territories as directed by sales management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position requires travel up to 25% domestic or international
- Performs Field Service inside/outside TI when needed on installation of new equipment.
- Works with Service/Sales, Design Engineering and R&D groups at inTEST EMS, to integrate new manipulator, docking and interface technologies with focus on assisting in developing existing and new multinational accounts.
- In conjunction with Marketing and Design Engineering groups, assists in defining new product concepts and product specifications based on customer requirements and/or sales and marketing data. In addition, assists to develop and deliver product and/or concept presentations to the customers as required or requested by sales management.
- Provides Applications Engineering requests from customers, assists in the completion of divisional statements of work or request for quote forms, and works with sales management and the Design Engineering department for the completion of concept drawings.
- Coordinates and collaborates with the engineering staff in the design of new products and sustaining engineering on existing products with a focus on continuous improvements.
- Assist sales management in securing orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility or contacting by phone, with direction from sales management.
- Assists or Secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements.
- Assist Sales management to follow up on quotations submitted to customers as directed.
- Establishes professional customer / vendor relationships as inTEST direct representative, with focus on TI TIEM, TI TIM and TTS Asia group.
- Works with TI TIEM, TI TIM and TTS Asia group to maintain our position at TI, develop new products and manage existing projects via reoccurring meetings co-chaired with the Sales Management
- Support TI TIEM, TI TIM and TTS Asia group efforts to improve OEE and eliminate ERGO risk
- Train/Educate TI TIEM, TI TIM and TTS Asia group on TI/inTEST past design methodologies
- Working with inTEST Sales Management team/RSM to assist with activity/call reports (via the CRM program) concerning customer activities for quotes, orders, problems or lost business.
- Assists TI Strategic Account Manager and Regional Sales Manager with periodic forecast planning by providing sales forecast information
- Is first point of contact for any customer issue. Responsible for filing issue report (field service report) and following up to ensure that issue is resolved to customer’s satisfaction.
- Studies blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures.
- Perform mechanical and electrical measurements then communicate the data accurately.
- Interprets maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and repairs equipment, utilizing electro/mechanical knowledge and using standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Consults with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance in the field and in the office, using established Field Service Reporting methodology.
- Provides customer training on equipment including proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Advises management regarding customer satisfaction.
- Utilize MRP system to research product part numbers, product descriptions and bill of materials.
- Submits request to Engineering for revisions of installation manuals when needed or as requested.
- Maintains a working knowledge of products and services.
- Works closely with all levels of personnel ranging from corporate presidents to service workers.
- Completes and submits records for expense reports on a timely basis.
- Is willing to go the extra mile. This job often does not end at 5, it ends when the job is done if that is what the urgency calls for.
- Must be able to think outside the box to develop new solution while partnering with Engineering and Sales Management
- Must work in a safe manner.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical degree or equivalent experience;
- Bonus: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing both technically and non-technically
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work in a group and independently.
- Requires knowledge of ATE environment (testers/probers/handlers and their inter-faces) along with ESD considerations and familiarity with clean room protocols
- Extensive domestic travel is required; International travel may be required to China, Philippines and USA to work with TI TTS group and inTEST Service/Sales Management
- Must be diplomatic when dealing with customers.
PHYSICAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
- Moderate level of physical activity required during equipment installations
- Manual dexterity required.
- Must be able to deal with a moderate level of stress.
