JOB SUMMARY:
Provides oversight of Workforce Development program, which delivers classroom instruction, job readiness training, and other services to participants with a goal of achieving self-sufficiency. This role is responsible for managing the workforce and employment partnerships across the agency
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promotes the Workforce Development program through outreach and media.
- Identifies and recruits appropriate candidates for participation in the program.
- Conducts assessment of experience, skills, and work limitations with new students.
- Is responsible for coordinating workforce and employment services across the agency. This includes collaborating with staff in the New Americans Program and aggregating workforce related data across all departments.
- Tracks client workforce and employment data across all programs.
- Facilitates classroom instruction using pre-approved curriculum and other resources as needed.
- Facilitates workshops on soft skills and workplace essentials.
- Develops partnerships with other organizations and coordinate guest presentations on appropriate topics related to professionalism in the industry.
- Identifies and solicits industry partners for possible future job placements.
- Assists clients in completing applications and arranging transportation for work.
- Assists with the research for grants and funding opportunities.
- Works with the grant team to help complete grant applications.
- Conducts follow-up with employers after placement to ensure their satisfaction and troubleshoot any potential concerns or problems.
- Provides all services according to program and agency guidelines and mandates.
- Serves as liaison with other community agencies and professional partners.
- Completes any required reports or data collection activities as prescribed by funders, partners, or agency leadership in a timely and accurate manner.
- Troubleshoots client problems and concerns.
- Reviews program guidelines and updates and participates in training to ensure that services meet funder expectations and requirements.
- Conform and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Maintains accurate client/program records regarding services provided including contacts/ businesses for potential future placement, according to Agency guidelines, using the database(s) provided by the agency and within Agency time frame.
- Actively participates in supervision sessions, periodic team meetings, and training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of workforce development program staff as well as supervision of interns assigned to the program.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social service, education, business administration, or related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in workforce development, adult education, customer service, or program management.
- Knowledge of human learning and an ability to adapt and use various methods of instruction for group and individual learning. Experience delivering training preferred.
