The EPIC Compliance Officer/In-House Counsel we are looking for:
Reporting to the President, The Compliance Officer/In-House Counsel will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of compliance and legal matters at HFD. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Team to ensure HFD complies with all relevant regulations and laws.  

As a Compliance Officer/In-House Counsel, you will: 

  • Develop compliance policies and procedures 
  • Review and revise all compliance policies 
  • Organize and develop auditing schedules, processes, and protocols 
  • Conduct regular diligence and oversight on all necessary parties 
  • Manage oversee all record keeping protocols and obligations 
  • Manage relationship with compliance vendors and finance partners 
  • Manage consumer disputes 
  • Manage compliance violations 
  • Provide guidance and direction to internal members 
  • Maintain understanding and knowledge of emerging compliance regulation 
  • Provide risk assessment for all sectors and regulations impacting HFD 
  • Provide legal advice or opinions to management and the Executive Team on the legal effect of rules, regulations, proposed legislation, statutory law, court decisions, and administrative actions 
  • Serve as key legal advisor on all major transactions, including lending transactions, acquisitions, and joint ventures 
  • Respond to legal correspondence and conduct all relevant investigations involved in the enforcement of laws, rules and regulations 
  • Assist in the preparation of or prepare potential legal disputes that may result in litigation before boards, commissions, hearing officers, or administrative law judges 
  • Provide guidance and drafting, review and record keeping for all legal documents relevant to HFD 
  • Manage all other legal department concerns and personnel 
Requirements

 Requirements: 

  • Juris doctor (JD) required. 
  • California Bar License required. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance and/or legal roles 
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Strong attention to detail

Salary Description
$108,888 - $178,381, dependent on experience.
