Summary: Our firm is looking for an Associate Attorney to assist with our heavy caseload. In this role, you will collaborate with other attorneys in our office, managing multiple cases at a time. You will prepare litigation reports and risk assessments, draft legal documents, and make court appearances on behalf of our clients. In preparation for trial, you will also oversee discovery, perform research, and negotiate favorable settlements when possible. Applicants for this position must have a license to practice law and litigation experience with a proven record of success. Zealously advocating for our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drafting legal documents
- Representing clients in courts
- Managing caseload and schedule
- Developing litigation strategies
- Negotiate settlements on client’s behalf
- Conducting conference calls with clients
- Provide clients with updates on cases
- Supervising paralegal
- Preparing and attending trials, mock trials, mediations, appraisals, and depositions
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
- Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel
- Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and advocate on behalf of clients
- Communicate with paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently and in a timely manner
- Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
- Ensuring that information obtained during interactions with the client, remain confidential
Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida
- In-depth knowledge of civil procedure and torts
- Must be able to draft, review legal documents, and train with senior attorneys
- Strong ability to perform research, problem solve and effectively communicate the results
- Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, and opposing counsel
- Can work within defined processes and procedures
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to work in high volume settings
- Exposure to the insurance industry preferred

Salary: Competitive compensation based on experience
Schedule: This position is ON-SITE in our Fort. Lauderdale office, with no remote/ hybrid schedule. Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts, 9:00am-6:30pm
