Summary
The Strategic Sales Executive – Government Benefits is responsible for all aspects of revenue generation and new client acquisition, as well as serving as a trusted partner who is focused on selling compliance, security, or healthcare-related solutions within the federal or state government market, as well as selling to a related account list as defined by Sales leadership in conjunction with the Strategic Sales Executive.
Responsibilities
- Identifies, develops, manages and grows opportunities by proactively connecting through multiple channels with new, large employer prospects within federal and state government benefit agencies, public hospitals, and clinics.
- Develops and executes a consultative sales strategy to achieve or exceed revenue targets that includes identifying high-potential accounts, crafting tailored proposals, and negotiating contracts.
- Establishes long-term business relationships with key decision makers of new and existing customers.
- Develops comprehensive account strategies to win new business from new and existing accounts.
- Goes deep and wide in an organization to develop contacts, advocates, and gather information helpful for the sales process.
- Applies interpersonal skills to influence and persuade stakeholders and achieve desired outcomes.
- Stays informed about government industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor offerings to position our solutions effectively.
- Partners with technology, development, and customer service teams to educate on industry and ensure end-to-end customer sales and satisfaction that result in new revenue growth.
- Assists with coordinating the implementation, onboarding, and training processes at client sites, helps manage expectations, and cross-sells ancillary products and services.
- Communicates regularly with Sales leadership to provide information on specific issues, sales, product information, and general economic concerns.
- Develops a deep understanding of our criminal background screening and license monitoring solutions in order to clearly articulate the value of company products and services.
- Keeps detailed sales forecasts of identified and proposed opportunities and prepares various reports for internal review, including sales, pipeline status, activities, accomplishments, etc.
- Ensures data integrity of CRM to ensure accurate reporting of activities, prospects, and sales statuses.
- Travels as needed to attend meetings, conferences, and other events up to 20% of the time.
- Other duties as required.
- Experience selling compliance, security, or healthcare-related solutions is preferred.
- Experience with government accounts or healthcare organizations is preferred.
- Understanding of criminal background checks, license monitoring, and regulatory compliance within the healthcare sector is required.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with various stakeholders is required.
- Proven results meeting or exceeding sales targets is required.
- Experience with the legal/court system is preferred.
- Experience with background screening is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Relevant business management systems such as general ledger, HRIS, CRM, etc. is preferred. Salesforce is required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications or licensure: If you do any work-related driving while at Asurint, a driver’s license and ability to maintain a driving record that is satisfactory to the company’s liability insurance carrier is required.
- Years of relevant experience: 5 years of sales experience is required.
- Years of experience supervising: None.
Working Conditions
- The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of offices, including the need for general safe workplace practices with office equipment and computers, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations.
- This position is performed remotely within the United States or in an office setting in the Cleveland, Ohio headquarters, although off-site meetings in various settings may occur.
- Inside Asurint’s office environment, the noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
- In a remote setting, the employee is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment, for arranging the off-site workspace in an ergonomically sound manner, and for maintaining standard Internet speeds in order to work effectively.
- In a remote setting, the employee is required to ensure that all equipment and records that are the property of Asurint but have been relocated to the off-site workplace, are maintained in a safe and secure manner and are used only for business purposes.
- The schedule is generally normal Eastern Time Zone business hours (unless otherwise communicated based on position or working location), although the employee may be required to perform work, attend meetings and events before or after normal workings hours, and occasionally on weekends and evenings.
- Some travel by personal automobile and a valid driver’s license may be required. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Ability to lift light objects (less than 20 pounds) and carry them short distances (20 feet or less) is required.
