JOB DESCRIPTION: RADIOLOGY TECHNICIAN - PART TIME 24-30 HRS.

DEPARTMENT: Pain Management Sonoran Crossing and Scottsdale Offices

REPORTS TO: Director of Clinics

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Position performs high quality radiographs (C-Arm and plain film X-rays) in a manner that optimizes the patient experience, focuses on patient safety, and practices ALARA principles.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping and stretching and/or walking
  • Heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more) of patients and supplies.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility.
  • Exposure to blood and bodily fluids, as well as hazardous materials.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment
  • Normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed in a clinical setting, with contact with patients, office staff, physicians, etc.
  • Overtime as required

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and accompany patients to dressing and exam rooms.
  • Set up and maintain patient dressing and recovery rooms.
  • Perform high quality radiographic procedures, under supervision of radiologist.
  • Maintain procedure rooms, including ordering and stocking supplies.
  • Ensure rapid, efficient turnover of procedure rooms.
  • Maintain film badges.
  • Ensure radiation safety procedures are being followed according to ALARA principles.
  • Lead shielding of patients whenever possible.
  • Manual colimation for all views, C-Arm and X-Ray.
  • Limit repeat views whenever possible.
  • Critique all films and organize views per neuroradiologist preference.
  • Wear protective lead apparel and dosimetry devices during X-Ray/Fluoro procedures.
  • Ask female patient if they are or think they may be pregnant before procedures.
  • Immediately advise supervisor if you are or think you may be pregnant.
  • Take and pass written GE C-Arm competency test.
  • Process X-Ray exams in Agfa CR reader.
  • Complete all necessary administrative duties associated with patient exams in
  • Centricity EMR and DR Systems PACS.
  • Ensure that preventive maintenance is being done on equipment. Maintain appropriate equipment documentation.
  • Follow state regulations for X-ray logs.
  • Play a lead role in ensuring patient satisfaction and in following HIPA guidelines.
  • Maintain patient, physician, and staff privacy and confidentiality per the BBS Compliance Program.
  • Maintain designated certifications (ARRT (R), Arizona State MRTBE).
  • Other duties and assignments as necessary

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Successful completion and graduation from an accredited radiology technologist professional program.
  • 3-5+ years of experience as a radiology technologist, with experience on both Xray and C-Arm equipment.
