RESPONSIBILITIES
Teamwork, Support, and Process
Core Roof Consulting Services
Roof Investigation and Analysis:
- Investigate, inventory, analyze, rate and document existing roof conditions, typically on commercial and industrial facilities. Perform infrared moisture surveys and verify findings.
- Develop, justify and budget appropriate recommendations for roof repairs, roof replacements and preventive maintenance in support of the client’s objectives and best interests.
- Prepare reports and collaborate with administrative and drafting staff for development of client deliverables.
- Develop and maintain roof management programs for national multi-facility clients.
Roof Design, Plans and Specifications, and Bid Services:
- Perform field visits and conduct highly detailed roof design investigations, research codes and insurance requirements, identify and prioritize project-specific design criteria, develop viable options for client consideration and communicate to client via narrative design development report.
- Collaborate with architects and clients on building enclosure performance, system constructability and design concepts.
- Develop detailed, customized plans and specifications for competitive bidding.
- Assist with bidder prequalification, hold pre-bid meetings and issue documentation, and assist client with review and analysis of bids.
Construction Phase Services:
- Perform contract administration services, review contractor submittals, conduct pre-construction meetings, perform final inspections and issue completion punch lists.
- Provide support for field consultant(s) performing construction observation, including peer review of daily construction reports.
Quality Control:
- Perform interim review of work-in-process and perform peer quality control review of deliverables by other project teams.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Ability and willingness to travel to projects sites throughout the United States as needed (approximately 50-70% of time).
- Relevant experience in commercial and industrial roof design, construction and/or quality assurance.
- Ability to apply technical skills and research to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients.
- Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
- Strong passion in the continuous pursuit of technical excellence, learning and improvement.
- Physical requirements include: ability to lift at least 50 lbs., ability to physically access the client’s roof (including ladders, stairs, and/or steps), ability to sit, stand, walk, and stoop for extended periods of time, ability to crawl in and out of otherwise inaccessible locations on an occasional basis.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in structural or construction engineering, architecture, construction management or related discipline.
- IIBEC Registered Roof Observer (RRO) and/or Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) credentials.
- Experience with leading projects in a related field/industry, such as engineering, architecture, construction management or roof system manufacturing.
- Project management, design and/or construction administration experience with commercial and industrial roofing projects.
- Experience in preparing plans, specifications and bidding documents for roof replacement and repair projects and/or performing quality assurance observation on roof replacement projects.
- Experience with developing new business and estimating and/or writing proposals for future opportunities.
- Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. Benchmark uses Deltek.
- Experience with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System).
