Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Co-op Engineer to join our embedded systems team. In this role, you will work directly with experienced engineers to develop firmware for ARM and ATMEL microcontrollers. This is a hands-on opportunity where you will learn and contribute to projects involving embedded software design, microcontroller programming, and testing of real-time systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing, developing, and testing embedded firmware for ARM and ATMEL microcontrollers.
  • Write, debug, and optimize C code for real-time applications.
  • Participate in code reviews and collaborate with senior engineers on design improvements.
  • Work on peripheral integration, including GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, PWM, ADC, and timers.
  • Assist in creating technical documentation for developed firmware.
  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to provide insights into firmware development progress.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to hardware/software integration and performance.
Requirements

    

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering Technology (CET), Computer Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), or Electrical Engineering (EE).
  • Basic understanding of C/C++ programming, especially for embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with ARM Cortex-
    M and/or ATMEL AVR microcontroller architectures.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters is a plus.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively share progress, issues, and ideas.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with RTOS concepts or experience with FreeRTOS.
  • Basic knowledge of digital and analog circuit components.
  • Previous experience with embedded projects (academic or personal).

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
