POSITION
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Manager to join our team. The Data Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the network’s data systems, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security as well as driving data-informed decisions to improve student outcomes. The Data Manager will report to the Chief Academic Officer and will work closely with school leaders, testing coordinators, and teachers to foster a culture of continuous improvement and student success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and maintain our network’s Student Information System (SIS) and the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS), ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Oversee the collection and SIS integration of new student data.
- Oversee the integration of data from various sources, including NWEA/MAP, iReady, network-adopted curriculum, Smarter Balanced/CAASPP testing and ETS, and other relevant systems.
- Train test coordinators and administrators on testing protocols and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage all data compliance requirements for authorizers, grants, and state/federal government agencies.
- Manage and coordinate contracts with various data vendors, in conjunction with the Finance Department and other relevant parties.
- Train staff on SIS systems-including teacher gradebooks, data processes, and data collection procedures.
- Provide technical support to staff on data-related issues.
- Ensure data security and privacy compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., FERPA, CIPA).
- In collaboration with the C-level team, prepare and submit required reports to local authorizers, county, state (CDE), and federal agencies.
- Attend Board meetings to provide consultations, presentations, and support.
- Coordinate with instructional staff to align on best instructional practices, curriculum adoptions, and supplemental program adoptions.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Create data visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
- Continuously improve and streamline data processes.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
- Experience with student information systems and CALPADS.
- Strong understanding of data privacy and security regulations.
- Knowledge of state standards, assessment requirements, and educational policies.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of desk work and computer use.
- Motor coordination and finger dexterity for keyboarding and other tasks.
- Occasional lifting of objects up to twenty pounds.
- Ability to access and navigate various facilities within the organization.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $90,000-$110,000. Salary is commensurate with experience, education, and expertise. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
