We have an exciting opportunity for a senior level role as Director, Field Applications Engineering- Broadband to join our Kontron Family!  We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Field Application Engineering to lead our broadband application engineering team. This role will be pivotal in driving customer success, supporting product deployment, and ensuring technical excellence in our broadband solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, a passion for customer engagement, and a proven track record of leadership in the telecommunications industry.


     

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: ­ 


Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead   and mentor a team of field application engineers, providing guidance on   technical challenges and career development.
  • Foster   a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing.


Customer Engagement:

  • Act as the primary technical liaison between customers and the company,   addressing complex issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate   with sales teams to develop strategies for customer acquisition and   retention, ensuring technical requirements are met.


Technical Expertise:

  • Provide expert guidance on broadband technologies
  • Oversee technical presentations, demonstrations, and testing for customers.

 

On-Site Testing & Support:

  • Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of broadband solutions at customer sites   to ensure performance meets specifications and customer needs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during on-site engagements, providing real-time   support to customers.

 

Product  Development Support:

  • Work closely with R&D and product management to provide feedback on customer   needs and market trends.
  • Assist in the development and launch of new broadband products, ensuring alignment   with customer requirements and industry standards.


Training  & Development:

  • Design   and implement training programs for internal teams and customers to enhance   product knowledge and application.
  • Conduct   workshops and seminars to promote best practices in broadband application   engineering.

Performance   Metrics & Reporting:

  • Develop   and monitor KPIs and OKRs to assess the effectiveness of the application   engineering team and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide   regular reports to executive leadership on team performance, customer   feedback, and market insights.
  • Provide   guidance on competitive landscape and pricing

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical   Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in application   engineering, technical support, or related roles within the broadband or   telecommunications industry.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track   record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of broadband   technologies and market trends.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the   ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse   audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the   ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Up to 50% travel 
  • Accommodate working hours to overlap minimum 2 hours with Kontron Slovenia working hours

Salary Description
$120K-130K
