We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Communications Specialist to support a mission-critical federal project. The ideal candidate will lead the development, coordination, and delivery of strategic communications across various channels, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with federal guidelines. This role also emphasizes driving innovative approaches to enhance user engagement and deliver a best-in-class experience for digital government services. The Senior Communications Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to craft high-quality messaging that aligns with the project's objectives and upholds government standards.
- This is a full-time W2 position.
- Corp-to-Corp and 1099 ineligible.
Location:
- Remote with potential travel to Client site.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the USA. Vaultes does not provide visa sponsorship.
- You must be able to pass and maintain a valid Security Clearance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to support project objectives and stakeholder engagement.
- Create, review, and edit high-quality content for internal and external audiences, including reports, presentations, newsletters, web content, and social media posts.
- Ensure all communication materials comply with federal guidelines, policies, and accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508 compliance).
- Act as the primary liaison between cross-functional teams to gather input, align messaging, and manage communication timelines effectively.
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, providing data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Develop talking points, briefings, and responses to inquiries for senior leadership to ensure consistent messaging.
- Coordinate the approval process for communication deliverables, maintaining meticulous records and ensuring timely execution.
- Support crisis communication efforts by drafting timely, accurate, and clear messaging during high-pressure situations.
- Stay informed of federal policies, industry best practices, and emerging trends in communication strategies to maintain innovation and relevance.
- Train and guide team members on communication protocols, tools, and techniques to enhance project communication efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field, with 7+ years of experience in communications, preferably supporting government or public sector projects.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to develop clear, concise, and impactful content for diverse audiences.
- Expertise in strategic communication planning and execution, including campaign development and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong knowledge of federal guidelines, policies, and standards, including Section 508 accessibility compliance.
- Proficiency with digital communication tools, content management systems, and analytics platforms to drive effective outreach and engagement.
- Outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, work collaboratively, and meet strict deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Capable of operating a computer and other office productivity machinery, and frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers.
