Description

 

ThermAvant Technologies, LLC designs and manufactures high-performance custom thermal management solutions, including advanced heat sinks and heat spreaders utilizing Oscillating Heat Pipe (OHP) technology. Our solutions serve terrestrial and aerospace applications. ThermAvant operates an AS9100D/ISO9001-certified facility in Columbia, Missouri.


Position Overview:
We are seeking a Quality Inspector, Aerospace Manufacturing to join our team and contribute to ensuring the delivery of exceptional thermal management products. Reporting to the QA Director, this role involves working on diverse projects, requiring independent judgment, flexibility, and collaboration with other departments. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards.


  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct final inspections of parts prior to shipment to customers.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and receiving inspections, including associated reporting.
  • Review Certificates of Conformance for accuracy and ensure compliance with customer order requirements before product release.
  • Collect, track, and file project documentation, providing status updates as needed.
  • Communicate effectively and promptly with other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
  • Support additional tasks as assigned, including document control, maintaining the calibration database, and assisting with internal process audits.


Requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Understanding of engineering prints, tolerances, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Basic math skills.
  • Familiarity with inspection equipment such as CMM, VMM, thread gauges, Mitutoyo digital height scale, calipers, pin gauges, and profilometers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and adaptability to new software tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred:
Flexible and adaptive mindset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with inspecting machined aluminum parts is a plus).
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
