Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Technical Writer to join our team, supporting the development and maintenance of technical documentation for cutting-edge Navy systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills, a basic understanding of technical concepts, and a desire to learn and grow in the field of technical writing. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside engineers, analysts, and other technical professionals in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, edit, and maintain technical manuals, user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other documentation for Navy systems in accordance with Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) standards.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy, clarity, and usability.

• Assist in updating and revising existing documentation to reflect system upgrades, configuration changes, and process improvements.

• Format and publish documentation using tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and specialized publishing software.

• Maintain version control and track document revisions in compliance with Navy and DoD documentation requirements.

• Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards, deadlines, and technical requirements.

• Assist in preparing and submitting technical documentation for audits, reviews, and certification processes.


Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail.

• Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate them into clear and concise documentation.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat.

• U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.


Working Conditions:

• Primarily office-based with occasional opportunities to visit Navy facilities or ships for research and collaboration.

• Some travel may be required to support on-site meetings or training sessions.
