Description
We’re looking for an experienced Construction Laborer to join our field crew. This hands-on role includes a variety of tasks such as trenching, excavation, material handling, and assisting with the installation of temporary structures. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, physically capable, and a dependable team player.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with site preparation, setup, and cleanup, including debris removal and organizing materials.
- Perform manual labor such as trenching, excavation, lifting, and carrying heavy loads.
- Load, unload, and properly store construction materials and equipment.
- Support the assembly and installation of scaffolding, formwork, and other temporary structures.
- Mix, pour, and apply concrete, asphalt, and similar materials under supervision.
- Help position materials like bricks, blocks, piping, and steel components.
- Operate basic tools and equipment (e.g., shovels, wheelbarrows, jackhammers, power tools) safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Report safety concerns or incidents promptly to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with the crew to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Perform routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Follow construction plans and supervisor instructions accurately.
- Take on other duties as needed to support the team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Physically able to perform demanding labor, including lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in various conditions
- Familiarity with basic construction tools, equipment, and safety procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Attention to detail and basic math proficiency
- Willingness to follow instructions and take direction
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Prior construction experience is a plus, but not required
