Position
The Senior Director, Health Care position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s ability to achieve reproductive well-being. This position is focused on positioning Power to Decide as the go-to resource for sexual and reproductive health care providers and systems. The Senior Director will build and execute a content and outreach strategy that is human-centered, driven by equity, and informed by the best available medical evidence and clinical guidelines. The Senior Director will build strategic partnerships with health care systems, professional organizations, payers, and health and social service providers across the country to expand the reach of Power to Decide’s key resources, such as Bedsider, AbortionFinder, and Bedsider Providers.
The Senior Director will report to the Vice President, Digital Programs and Education and will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Health Care Expertise
- Serve as the medical advisor to all Power to Decide efforts, including ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of health-related digital and print content for consumer audiences, such as on AbortionFinder and Bedsider.org, as well as educational materials.
Provider and Health Care System Strategy
- Build a strategy to scale efforts to increase the capacity of health care providers to offer high-quality, evidence-based sexual and reproductive health care with cultural humility in support of people’s reproductive well-being goals.
- Work in collaboration with other staff to develop and promote provider-focused tools to generate revenue for the organization’s programming.
- Represent the organization at conferences, with professional organizations, and as a media spokesperson.
- Create and foster relationships and partnerships with health care systems, professional organizations, payers, and providers nationally to leverage Power to Decide assets, both to increase our reach and to generate revenue for our programs.
Content Creation and Management
- Develop and execute content strategies for provider tools and resources to support evidence-based reproductive health care.
- Create and update educational materials, digital content, and trainings for health and social service providers.
- Lead the development of digital content for providers on Providers.Bedsider.org, including creating original content and recruiting freelance health care experts.
Fundraising Efforts
- Support fundraising efforts such as creating concept papers, developing grant proposals and reports, and meeting with funders, in an effort to generate funding to support the provider-facing work.
Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have/be:
- Graduate-level clinical degree (MD, NP, CNM, PA) with focus on sexual and reproductive health required.
- At least 10-to-12 years of relevant work experience required.
- Experience building strategic partnerships with health and social service systems.
- Understanding of the health care ecosystem and ability to leverage opportunities across that system to integrate reproductive well-being.
- Excellent health communication skills, including public speaking and strong writing and editing abilities.
- Familiarity with written and video digital content[MA1] creation and management.
- Comfort being featured in educational videos.
- Experience creating and delivering trainings for health care providers and systems, a plus.
- Ability to work effectively from a remote home office and travel 2-5 times per year if necessary.
Salary and benefits
Senior Director, Health Care is an exempt position. Salary is based on market factors and individual experience and abilities. The starting salary range for this position is $124,100 to $142,900 annually. Power to Decide will provide up to $2,000 annually to cover maintenance of clinical licensure and flexibility for up to 16 hours a month for clinical practice.
