Description

JOB SUMMARY

To assist clients in selecting insurance policies that best meet their needs, preferences, and budgets. Create client payment methods, recommend risk management strategies to clients, and provide policy proceeds after clients’ submitted claims are approved. The primary role of this position is to build relationships with your team and clients by providing excellent customer service and teamwork.  

This position requires a high degree of integrity, trust and confidentiality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary

  • Promote the insurance agency to existing and potential clients
  • Educate customers on types of insurance coverage and make suggestions based on their needs
  • Evaluate current insurance policies and suggest additional coverage when needed
  • Build your book of business by seeking new clients for the agency
  • Maintain all insurance documents in a confidential manner
  • Answer client questions about insurance coverage and policies
  • Demonstrate accuracy in processing client policy changes based on client needs
  • Update and track company maintained social media platforms
  • Complete all continuing education requirements as outline by the North Dakota Department of Insurance
  • Maintain integrity and professionalism when responding to client requests
  • Uphold confidentiality of all customer conversations, information, and proprietary agency information


Secondary

  • Knowledge of the various insurance products and services offered by the agency
  • Deliver consistent, superior customer service in accordance with Agri Valley Insurance standards
  • Take ownership of customers by responding to inquiries and requests or directing them to the appropriate resources
  • Provide support and service to co-workers to maintain and enhance customer service 
  • Professionally represent Agri Valley Insurance in community affairs and civic organization

  • Participate in training and meetings as related to position


Requirements

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills, exercise accuracy, alertness, good judgment, courtesy, tact, patience, and professionalism.  
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to speak effectively, actively listen and express thoughts in a clear, thorough manner. 
  • Must be proficient in computers and statistical analysis software.
  • Must be willing to collaborate and cooperate with others in the organization and possess effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of the different types of insurance plans offered and available.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, or related field with a minimum of three years’ experience in insurance sales or similar role.
  • Must have an active North Dakota Insurance License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, stand and use hands to finger and handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit and to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
