BioAge Labs is a venture-backed biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Richmond, CA. Because aging is the driver of many highly morbid, chronic medical conditions that reduce the length and quality of life, we are developing therapeutics that target the fundamental mechanisms of aging, with the goal of treating disease and increasing healthy lifespan.
We are seeking a Sr. Director of Program, Portfolio, and Alliance Management to provide program management leadership to the company’s cross-functional development teams to achieve program goals.
The role will lead the efforts for planning development activities, including budgeting and timeline development working closely with the functional areas and heads project teams, and other stakeholders to plan, execute, and monitor progress toward corporate goals for the company’s portfolio of development programs.
Essential Job Duties:
- Develops and applies efficient project management practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout of projects
- Drives and supports cross-functional Core Team activity to achieve the company’s overall strategic goals:
- Creates and maintains budgets, project plans/timelines, agendas, identifies key topics for discussion, documents key decisions, and facilitate key program meetings
- Integrates the company’s overall strategic goals with the cross-functional program and functional goals, ensures alignment, and communicates with executive level management
- Creates and maintains integrated cross-functional program budgets, timelines and development plans to drive and manage the information for development products and/or a portfolio to achieve corporate and project objectives
- Facilitates the Core Team meetings by proactively preparing agendas, minutes and identify(ies) risks and issues to discuss, anticipating and facilitating contingency planning for program-level risks and potential gating factors
- Promotes effective communication within the team and across disciplines, including program progress reporting (e.g., regular program and portfolio dashboards, meeting minutes, etc.)
- Prepares updates for Executive Management on a routine basis and as needed prepares focused analyses and proposals for key decisions/discussions facing programs
- Supports development of portfolio/program initiatives and drives budget to actual reporting, milestone metrics collection and data analysis for effective program management practices
- Acts as liaison / alliance manager to external collaborators and/or partners to drive program deliverables and build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships
- Leads program budget management, tracking efforts cross-functionally, working closely with finance, functional and Department Heads, to ensure budgets, accruals, and actuals are on track, captured, and reported appropriately
- Leads routine program budget meetings to report financial health and identify key budgetary program risks
- Monitors budget and spending across programs budget scenario planning activities to support requests from CFO & CDO
- Lead special projects (i.e., non dilutive funding team, annual budget planning) as required
- Plans and directs schedules and monitors budget and spending across programs
- Proactively anticipates and facilitates contingency planning for program level risks and potential gating factors
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of research and development and thorough understanding of the tasks required in all stages of development
- A strong understanding of processes involved in managing clinical products from early to late stage, including non-clinical, clinical, bioanalytical, manufacturing, formulation, quality, and regulatory affairs
- Comprehensive knowledge of project planning methods and techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong communicator with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Strong self-management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in complex, fast-paced environments
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite, G Suite , experience with Smartsheet preferred
Education and Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree required, advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience with a minimum of 7 years in program/portfolio/alliance management.
- Must have a scientific background.

- Travel: The role may occasionally require travel or in-person engagements. Travel may vary up to 25% based on needs.
- Emergency Response: Ability to respond promptly to emergencies as needed.

The salary for this role is expected to be approximately $230,000 - $270,000 for someone who meets all of the minimum qualifications as listed for the role, and may be adjusted accordingly for someone with more or less experience.
