AMHC’s Children's Crisis Stabilization Unit in Calais is actively recruiting Full-Time Children’s Crisis Counselors. The CCSU Crisis Counselors provide 24/7 emergency support in the form of intervention and stabilization services. This is a 365-day-per-year service used for immediate, short-term, acute care to prevent out-of-home placement and psychiatric hospitalization for children and youth.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Associates degree and
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and work evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

  • Demonstrate the Integrity of AMHC by Identifying and developing plans that include Focused Services that will meet clients and their guardian's goals and needs
  • Provide Compassionate supervision, supportive counseling, and assistance to those experiencing family and/or psychiatric crisis
  • Respectfully Educate clients in decision-making, problem-solving, and developing and utilizing coping skills
  • Collaborate with other services to create an aftercare plan
  • Complete all paperwork, and quality assurance duties with Excellence in order to maintain the high level of services AMHC offers to our community

Schedule:

  • This is a 40-hour-per-week position
