We are seeking a Lead Mechanic to join our team in Fond du Lac, WI. In this role you will assist with maintenance and repairs to equipment and vehicles; asset tracking; replacing worn and defective parts, re-assembling mechanical components, changing oil, spark plugs, batteries, filters, etc.

The Role

  • Responsible for all maintenance and repairs to equipment and vehicles; replacing worn and defective parts, re-assembling mechanical components, changing oil, spark plugs, batteries, filters, etc. with the help of an assistant mechanic
  • Assists field personnel by delivering, replacing and repairing defective equipment
  • Repairs and paints trailers and equipment as needed
  • Responsible for tracking and assigning equipment and vehicles to field personnel
  • Assists with picking up and delivering material to several office locations throughout Wisconsin
Requirements
  • 3+ years of mechanic work experience (must have been employed as a mechanic)
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair
  • Ability to track and maintain a fleet of 300 pieces of equipment
  • Ability to delegate workload for assistant mechanic
  • Basic computer skills 
  • Willingness to work in a wide variety of conditions including indoors, outdoors, ladders/heights, small spaces, assorted weather conditions, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL or willingness to obtain preferred
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)
