Principle Purpose of Job
The Pastry Cook plays a vital role in crafting exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. In this role, you’ll work alongside a team of talented professionals, preparing high-quality baked goods and desserts that reflect our commitment to culinary artistry. With opportunities to rotate through Heck's Tavern, Ranch House Restaurant, Volario's, Café Giocondo, and our Banquets team, this position provides a dynamic and diverse environment to grow your skills and career.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, inventory, and maintain assigned pastry stations or projects under the direction of the Pastry Chef.
- Ensure all menu items are prepared to recipe specifications and presented beautifully.
- Perform mise en place duties, including setup, prep, and thorough cleaning of assigned stations.
- Maintain knowledge of proper food storage, handling practices, and health codes.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure food is properly dated and labeled.
- Execute opening and closing duties efficiently, supporting the overall success of the kitchen.
- Exhibit strong multitasking, time management, and organizational skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental and resort-wide goals.
- Contribute to the Ranch mission by maintaining quality standards and guest satisfaction.
- Other duties assigned by Pastry Chef and/or Sous Chef.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; pastry degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year of professional kitchen experience in a restaurant, hotel, or resort setting.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to quality.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and health codes.
- Positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Physically able to lift up to 60 pounds, stand for prolonged periods, and navigate a large property, including stairs.
Compensation Description:
$18.00/hr Competitive pay commensurate with education and experience.
