Description
Job Summary: The VP of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee operations activities in the organization, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs. This will include taking a hands-on management approach of the manufacturing, purchasing/supply chain and quality teams in the organization with strong and proven leadership ability.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals.
- The VP of Operations will also be the general manager of the company manufacturing site in Ogden.
- Support operations and logistical needs in the Calgary Factify and future expansions.
- Support operations and logistics of the Customer Service organization.
- Collaborate with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Effective operations and cost optimization including ERP improvements, supply chain management, manufacturing and quality.
- Establish and meet operations KPIs.
- Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan, budget and vision.
- Establish, communicate, and implement operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
- Review and approve cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.
- Establish and administer the department’s budget.
- Present periodic performance reports and metrics to the chief executive officer and other leadership.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
- Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.?
- At least 7 years related experience in senior operations role.?
- Successful management of operation teams.?
- Experience in processes and tools at a growth company.?
- Experience in a precision manufacturing environment
- Experience using data-driven processes.

- Truly interdisciplinary: Experience working complex systems. Our disciplines include mechanics, precision manufacturing, pressurized vessels, leak checks, thermal processes, hardware products – electronics and power electronics, firmware, control systems.
- Knowledge and experience implementing industry standards and methodologies – Six sigma, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, etc.
- Regular use of a computer keyboard required.
- Regularly sits for a number of hours per shift.
- Regularly required to speak and hear clearly in person, by telephone and video calls.
- Regularly utilizes written and oral communication skills.
- Requires ability to read and interpret information and documents.
- Perform detailed work on multiple concurrent projects.
