Ophthalmic Technician

Description 


Responsible for daily patient care flow. Perform a number of data collection functions as delegated by the physician and/or Clinic Manager to allow for proper professional diagnosis, treatment, and care of patient’s condition(s). 


Essential Functions  


Testing  

 

Scribing  


Cleaning exam rooms  

 

Monitoring flow of patients  


Assist with eye examinations

  

Assist Physician and scribes Medical Charts 


Perform clerical duties 


Maintain and clean the examination equipment 


Collect and confirm existing medical history information 


Explain the exam process to patients 


Administer tests to determine the visual capabilities of a patient 


Other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Job Specifications  
 
Typically has the following skills or abilities:  
 
One year of experience or training in ophthalmology, optometry, or other healthcare environment  
 
Knowledge of working in a multi-specialty environment  
 
Willing to travel between multiple offices based on the demands of business  
 
Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills  
 
Proficient with computers 


Preferred Skills  
 
COA or COT Certification  
 
Proficient in ophthalmic testing  
 
Knowledge of Diagnostic Equipment and Medical and Ophthalmic terminology  
 
English and Spanish bilingual

The compensation range for the role is listed below. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. As a part of the compensation package, this role may include eligible bonuses and commissions.
