Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optics Machining Technician to join our 2nd shift team. The individual hired for this position will learn and become proficient in machining, handling, inspecting, and cleaning small optics. Optics Machining Technicians are responsible for operating optics finishing machines in a production environment and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality outcomes.
2nd Shift Hours: Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC equipment to machine optical components using SPDM.
- Perform quality checks and adjust cutting parameters to achieve optimal machine performance.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
- Conduct product inspections to ensure precision tolerances are met.
- Meet production schedules while adhering to quality standards.
- Process and maintain accurate production logs and tracking documentation.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company and industry safety protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of machining experience or equivalent technical training.
- Proficiency in machine operation and maintenance, including CNC equipment.
- Fine motor skills and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain precision tolerances.
- Ability to solve basic math problems relevant to machining and inspection.
- Familiarity with measuring devices and inspection equipment.
- Optical inspection experience is a plus but not required.
