We are seeking a Security Systems Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, as well as developing test plans, test descriptions, and test reports. Additionally, the Security Systems Test Engineer will collaborate with design engineers, software developers, and hardware engineers on multiple tasks to support PSIM software operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop test strategies that will include approaches for test data, regression testing and automation methodologies to ensure higher quality delivery and test coverage
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain test frameworks and custom test solutions
- Test individual frameworks, programs, automation scripts and configurations
- Debug automation frameworks/scripts and resolve technical issues
- Document technical solutions within test frameworks and custom test solutions
- Leverage critical thinking to identify problems and recommend corresponding solutions
- Determine programming impact on system
- Modify detailed test scripts/modules/applications/frameworks with high quality
- Program scripts/modules/applications using a high level of technical expertise
- Work within development environment and establish collaborative relationships with team members to ensure success of releases
- Analyze Requirements and Functional Specifications and design/create and execute test cases/scenarios
- Provide back-up support to Tier 3 Help Desk Engineers and software developers/engineers when necessary
- Keep the testing environment up to date. This may include updating servers and workstations
- Perform other duties as needed to help fulfill our mission
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proven experience in system testing, preferably in security systems or PSIM
- Proficiency with manually testing software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to write, clear, concise, and comprehensive test documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of security systems, including hardware, software, and network components
- Basic knowledge of programming languages
- Ability to work with little or no supervision
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with scripting or programming for test automation (e.g., Python, Java)
- Familiarity with configuration management and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Git)
Qualifications
- Active Clearance (e.g., Top Secret, Secret)
- Bachelor’s degree In Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
