Machinist IV
Description

Job Summary: The Machinist IV will program, set up, operate and troubleshoot both CNC and manual mills and lathes. Work with R&D, Engineering and Production teams to produce precision parts and new processes. This individual will support the production teams to ensure a continuous flow of product. Leadership and mentoring skills are expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret GD&T and work from blueprints, sketches, sample parts and solid models to produce precision parts.
  • Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and G-code to ensure accurate and efficient production. 
  • Assist in developing new machining processes and improve existing ones. Create SWIs for new processes.
  • Select the appropriate tooling and speeds and feeds to accomplish machining operations.
  • Assist in the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of production machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production runs.
  • Perform in process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards. 
  • Perform routine maintenance and report necessary repairs on machining equipment to ensure optimal performance. 


Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist, with 3 years in a Level III role or equivalent. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associates degree in machining or a related field preferred. 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong programming skills for CNC machines. 
  • Experience with manual milling machines and lathes. 
  • Knowledge of tooling and preventative maintenance of production equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks. 
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Regularly utilizes written and oral communication skills.
  • Requires ability to read and interpret information and documents.
  • Performs detailed work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to speak and hear clearly, with or without accommodation.
