Position Description:
We are searching for a candidate to manage compliance requirements for our organization. In this role, you will specialize in developing systems and strategies to ensure that all products adhere to the company's safety and quality standards, coordinate with various departments and staff to gather and analyze data, develop test procedures and guidelines, analyze existing compliance procedures to identify areas needing improvement, implement solutions, and maintain records of all procedures and test results. Furthermore, you must prepare and submit compliance reports and analyses, all while implementing the company's policies and regulations
To ensure success as a compliance engineer, industry-specific experience and relevant technical qualifications are a must. To be successful at LayerZero as a compliance engineer, you will have a sound technical background and be up to date with the latest regulatory developments in the industry. The ideal person for this position requires solid analytical skills alongside the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to other employees and management.
Primary Duties:
- Perform inspections and tests of electrical equipment to determine compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Determine applicable standards for unique or specially built equipment.
- Scope, quote, and manage product certification projects.
- Design and execute pre-compliance test cases.
- Stay up to date with standards and regulatory requirements and inform management of changes and their impacts.
- Perform equipment-labeling projects consistent with recognized industry and international standards, local jurisdiction requirements, and company procedures.
- Build and maintain a library of standards, requirements, compliance with test results, and reports.
Experience & Skills:
- Experience in compliance certification
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Power Equipment industry standards, such as UL 891, UL 1008S, UL67, CSA C22, IEC 62052-11, IEC 62310 and ANSI C12.20/C12.1.
- Good understanding of electrical power systems.
- Able to write detailed reports.
- Good research and analytical skills.
- Communicate effectively, writing and verbally, with customers, peers, management and manufacturing personnel.
Education:
- BS in electrical engineering
- US Citizenship or C1 Permanent Resident Alien status.
