The Director of E-Commerce Marketplaces is a new position, and it is critical to Team Schumacher's success. The director will drive e-commerce revenue growth through major e-commerce platforms and “owned” online channels. This role requires a deep understanding of e-commerce competitive strategy, Amazon Seller and Vendor Central, and leadership within a durable consumer products manufacturer. This position is expected to drive growth, be hands-on and bring an innovative approach to extending our brand affinity and advocacy through e-commerce marketplaces, retailer e-commerce platforms, and direct-to-consumer (DTC).
Duties/Responsibilities
- Hands-on management of the North American ecommerce business, key account management while managing the e-commerce team.
- Develop and implement strategies for online product placement, pricing, and promotions across all major North American sites.
- Achieve revenue targets by developing and executing plans to boost performance on Amazon (1P & 3P), Walmart.com, retail omnichannel platforms, and DTC.
- Collaborate with marketing and product management in designing new products, pricing, search relevancy, and digital content.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key marketplace partners, distributors, and third-party service providers.
- Utilize analytics and KPIs to monitor performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations to evaluate marketplace performance and inform strategic initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in e-commerce.
- Set-up and run tests that can provide data to inform strategic and tactical decisions that enhance competitiveness.
- Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasts based on POS and data-driven assumptions.
- Foster a culture consistent with Schumacher’s purpose, core values and strategic anchors.

Required Skills/Abilities

- Ability to translate brand vision to the online channel and execute strategies effectively.
- Experience selecting, scoping, and managing agencies and consultants with formal measurement metrics.
- Proven success in executing a comprehensive category strategy integrated across multiple consumer touchpoints.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work on and lead cross-functional teams.
- Experience with best-in-class, consumer-centric brands; durable consumer packaged goods or housewares experience is a plus.
- Experience managing Amazon 1P and/or 3P accounts is required.
- Strong work ethic and personal accountability.
- Excellent attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Education: bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field. A master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years’ proven experience in e-commerce and digital marketing, including 3+ years’ experience directly managing staff.
- Internal applicants: 6+ months successful demonstration of current position responsibilities, approval from current manager, and a relevant combination of education, continuing education, and experience.
