We have an immediate opening for a qualified Security Badging Specialist I who will support the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) at the FCC Headquarters in Washington DC.

The duties of the Security Badging Specialist I include:

  • Review and confirm scheduled badge issuance and badge finalization appointments.
  • Review returned security forms for accuracy and completeness; follow up with individuals for corrections, clarifications, or missing information.
  • Perform all necessary in-processing of individuals scheduled to receive a badge, including:
  • Capturing digital fingerprints using approved devices.
  • Capturing photographs for credentialing.
  • Preparing and transmitting electronic badge files to the HSPD-12 central badging office (GSA/USAccess).
  • Issue temporary badges and apply appropriate access control permissions.
  • Track the status of individuals processed for an HSPD-12 credential, issued temporary badges, or pending finalization.
  • Record receipt of HSPD-12 credentials from the vendor and notify individuals to schedule badge finalization and return of temporary badges.
  • Assist with finalization procedures for badge issuance.
  • Establish and maintain access-level records for each issued badge.
  • Handle customer walk-ins and telephone inquiries regarding badging or security issues.
  • Lock/unlock doors and manage access as required.
  • Handle and process classified and sensitive unclassified documents, including inventory, accountability, dissemination, and destruction.
  • Organize and maintain office keys and distribute under established procedures.
  • Support SOC operations as needed, including security research, meetings, information exchange, and responding to internal and external requests.


Pay Rate: $31.16/hour + $4.90/hour Health & Welfare


Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 05:00 PM

Requirements
  • Active Secret Security Clearance (minimum) required.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in personnel security, with emphasis on federal credentialing, HSPD-12, and access control badging.
  • Hands-on experience with digital fingerprinting systems.
  • Experience initiating and reviewing background investigations through systems such as Bridge Secure, DISS, and eApps/e-QIP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform administrative management tasks to support the FCC SOC.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus.
