OVERVIEW

As a Loan Accountant II- CCBX, you will gather, assemble, and analyze loan data for various tasks within the organization and finance department. You will manage daily, monthly, quarterly and year end accounting related to CCBX loan partners. You will also work closely with a variety of internal and external parties to develop best practices.


Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE

  • Perform daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and financial reporting to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. 
  • Validate completeness and accuracy of loan data in reports provided by partners.
  • Ensure that supporting documentation and processes are following internal control standards. 
  • Work with Bank staff to accurately account for purchases and sales of loans including identifying loans held for sale.
  • Perform periodic reviews to ensure that loan data is accurate going into quarter ends including credit data related to loans (modifications, credit grade, TDR status, account for non-accrual loans, etc.).
  • Assist with CCBX partner related journal entries and funds flow documentation.
  • Perform yield analysis and interest income reviews on loan portfolios to ensure income is being recognized appropriately in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain periodic reporting documents for use in tax compliance and internal, SEC, regulatory reporting.
  • Perform tests, review reports, and review loan data to ensure loan balances and loan related data are accurate and being reported in accordance with GAAP.
  • Identify, implement, and document areas for automation and participates in solution design. 
  • Support Allowance for Loan Loss preparation and review.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate loan reporting for CCB and CCBX loan portfolios.
  • Establish written procedures as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Knowledge of loan accounting – interest methods, rates, deferred fees & costs, non-accrual, trouble debt restructuring, Allowance for Loan Loss.
  • Advance aptitude in problem solving, including the ability to logically structure an appropriate analytical data framework for reporting and analyzing data.
  • Ability to extract, analyze and merge data from disparate systems and perform complex analysis.
  • Advanced analytical and research skills.
  • Prioritizing and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to navigate and work with multiple core or disparate systems and/or data repositories.
  • Strong organizational skills and is a master of processes and stickler for details.
  • Can accept the challenges that come with working for a rapidly growing company whose strategy includes significant organic growth and implementation of new systems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or another related quantitative discipline with minimum of 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, and data analysis roles.
  • 3 years minimum experience as a Loan Accountant.
  • 5 years minimum experience in Banking.
  • Experience working with high volume of transactions or data sets and resolving discrepancies.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel and working with databases.
