Walton Arts Center Inc. operates two campuses: a 1,200-seat proscenium theatre and 269-seat black box in Fayetteville and an 11,000-capacity outdoor Amphitheatre known as the Walmart AMP in Rogers, AR. Position Overview  

The Lounge Host is responsible for set-up and breakdown/cleaning of the Friends (Donor) Lounge, inventory, pick up and product placement of food items, and stocking all alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages during preshow and intermission. The host will provide exemplary customer service to guests, ensure cleanliness of the space and proper food handling. This part-time seasonal position requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.  

Requirements

 

Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions) 

  • Accurate and responsible handling and reporting of all consumable and disposable products provided and stocked for each preshow and intermission 
  • Oversee daily activities during scheduled shifts such as; pre-show set-up and sanitation, restocking product, table management, and post-show breakdown and sanitation. 
  • Greet and welcome donors, VIPs, and guests with a warm and friendly demeanor as they arrive. 
  • Show composure, resilience, and flexibility as donor needs evolve and case volume changes. 
  • Apply excellent customer service to ensure patrons have a positive experience in an upscale environment. 
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the lounge at all times and that all food and beverages are presented attractively, while collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely replenishment  
  • Ensure that all lounge furniture, decor, and service items are in good condition and properly arranged. 
  • Follow all health, safety and hygiene guidelines while handling food, beverages, and cleaning supplies. 
  • Represent Walton Arts Center / Walmart AMP at both on and off-site events, as requested. 
  • Maintain professional working relationships with teammates, fellow staff members from other departments, vendors, and guests. 
  • Assist in managing inventory for food and beverages, ensuring that stock is properly rotated, recorded, and replenished when necessary. 
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. 
  • Maintain security and safety requirements as defined by operations guidelines.  
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education, Training, Traits 

  • High school diploma or GED required; Hospitality or food & beverage certifications are a plus 
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service, including RAS and dietary restrictions to provide a serv-safe workplace. 
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours at a variety of events and performances. Must be reliable and attend scheduled shifts. 
  • Comfortable with consistently adhering to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality. 
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is proactive in serving guests. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards. 
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service 
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to interact with many diverse types of people 
  • An on-going desire to learn and improve 
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices 
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.  
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards 

Work Experience 

  • Experience in concession and food service. 
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality or food and beverage setting is preferred, especially in a high-end VIP environment. 
  • Preferred product budget management. 
  • Preferred knowledge of the performing arts, both the primary role of the artist in initiating cultural change, and the crucial role of patronage in sustaining the artist.  
  • Preferred knowledge in quality control of P&L and F&B outlets while adapting to consumers’ habits and desire for innovative new products and functions. 

Physical 

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly (on telephone) 
  • Must have a working cell phone and be willing to install basic applications and be willing to use it for work purposes 
  • Must be able to endure sitting or standing for extended periods of time 
  • Must endure standing or walking for extended periods on various surfaces such as concrete, grass, and inclined surfaces.  
  • Must be able to endure elements including cold, heat, wind, and/or precipitation 
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to set up and maintain the lounge area. 
  • Coordination to balance multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
