Job Purpose
The Director, Revenue Cycle Management will provide leadership to RCM/AR Follow Up Managers and their teams, including supervision of staff, reviewing of processes, and providing recommendations for improvement of operations. The goal is to meet or exceed national AR KPI benchmarks and client specific KPI’s. Maintain or exceed productivity and quality standards set for departments assigned. Understand and communicate the economic impact of upstream revenue cycle errors causing denials and provide data and recommended effective processes to correct actions. Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Plan, organize and direct overall operations of the AR Follow Up areas as it relates to insurance billing, collections and follow up
- Serve as the visionary for AR Management and work in conjunction with MediCentrix leadership to set target performance levels
- Ensure that MediCentrix stays current with billing regulations and industry requirements and/or trends
- Convey opportunities/risks to VP, Physician Services and other MediCentrix leaders
- Maintain an overall objective of maximization of cash collections, minimization of A/R inventories, and the minimization of write-offs/non-collectible adjustments
- Analyze AR reports, and utilize other work tools to review trends in charges and collections and proactively address potential issues
- Provide concise reporting to Executive Leadership on performance benchmarks (i.e., collections, rejections, days, etc.) as they relate to national and client based KPI’s
Personnel Management and Professional Development
- Provide management and supervisory duties related to educating and training staff, evaluating staff performance and monitoring productivity
- Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and develop subordinate staff, where applicable
- Develop and maintain quality control programs, including in-depth and individual performance reviews
- Orient new hires and provide in-services and training, continuing education, and development related to those functional areas of responsibility
Projects/Leadership
- Perform a variety of tasks including MSO special projects. Act as a leader, processes escalated issues
- Serve as facilitator and lead on MediCentrix Special projects. Finding the “best practice” solutions looking at the whole process
- Represent MediCentrix on Client Projects and provide communication back to MediCentrix Leadership
- Provide professional and summarized quantitative analysis to MediCentrix Executives through presentation and reporting
- Provide summarized analysis to Operations Leadership and staff
- Attend external seminars/training as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 7 yrs. min. experience directing and leading a physician business office/professional services CBO or MSO
- Must be experienced in and have extensive working knowledge of all systems related to the revenue cycle
- Ability to work well individually and in a team environment
- Must be reliable, responsible, goal oriented and flexible
- High degree of integrity including ability to successfully deal with sensitive or confidential information
- Ability to exhibit poise, composure and confidence when confronting stressful or high-pressure situations
- Must be able to demonstrate analytic and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal/listening, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Working Conditions
- Occasional travel to client locations
