Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Resident Camp Director furthers the mission of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains (GSTOP) through Stevens Ranch Resident Camp programming. The Resident Camp Director will direct the camp in daily duties to include supervising staff and providing support to the business functions of resident camp by performing camp activities, business and administrative tasks as outlined below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise administration and direction of summer camp program.
- Communicate with assigned Council staff weekly with camp updates.
- Complete Camp Director leadership training and facilitate camp staff training.
- Complete evaluations mid-summer and end of summer for all supervisors.
- Oversee the financial management of camp expenses, keep receipts, manage camp credit card, all purchases for camp, keeping all purchases in alignment with approved budget.
- Oversee the daily operation of summer camp including food service program, program, business, camper and staff supervision, and healthcare in general.
- Upon check-in and check-out, welcome families, trouble shoot. Make sure all staff are accounted for, and units are prepared accordingly.
- Ensure staff time is entered accurately in HRIS throughout the summer every week before staff leave for the week.
- Stay vigilant with all American Camper Association (ACA) guidelines and assist in any inspections by ACA and/or the State of Texas.
- Make sure all staff follow through with their job descriptions. Assist with assigning staff activities and other responsibilities.
- Manage the monitoring of safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all staff and campers.
- Help provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and wellbeing among staff and promote team collaboration. Discourage gossip and encourage comradery.
- Must be able to drive a camp vehicle and be physically able to respond to emergency situations.
- Maintain effective and positive public relations with parents, vendors, and members of the community.
- Be aware of camper and staff behavior always, assess the appropriateness, enforce the safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques. Take charge and in a calm and collected manner.
- Evaluate the current season and make suggestions for the following season.
- Supervise the opening and closing of camp, return supplies and vehicles to corporate office.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 25 years of age.
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required (provided if needed).
- Commitment to the mission and purpose of Girl Scouting.
- Membership of Girl Scout organization.
- Must be willing to collaborate with all people without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
- Experience and/or education in general Outdoor Education or Girl Scouts.
- Ability to coordinate on-site business activities.
- Desire and ability to work with children and adults in a camp community.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and produce results.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule while residing at camp.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Verbal fluency, good grammar, and professional appearance.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state where employee works/resides, with an acceptable driving record, acceptable insurance, and reliable transportation.
- You must complete and pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check, and drug screening.

- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

- Staff Camp Close Down Week: July 21-25, 2025
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
