Job Overview:
As the Transportation/Logistics Manager at Ledge, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing all transportation and logistics activities to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of our products. You’ll manage a team of four, including a Freight Analyst, while coordinating with freight carriers like FedEx, UPS, and 3PL logistics providers. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, experienced in logistics, and skilled in analytical tools such as PowerBI and NetSuite. This role reports directly to the Director of Fulfillment and Distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 4 logistics and freight professionals.
- Oversee all transportation activities, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to customers and retailers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key freight carriers (FedEx, UPS, 3PL logistics companies) to optimize costs and service levels.
- Monitor shipping performance, resolve issues, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with internal teams (sales, customer service, and warehousing) to align on delivery timelines and requirements.
- Update and maintain PowerBI dashboards to track logistics KPIs and provide actionable insights.
- Utilize NetSuite to manage logistics processes, inventory, and order fulfillment (preferred experience).
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Develop KPIs and metrics to assess transportation performance and make data-driven improvements.
- Manage budgets for freight and logistics services, driving cost reductions where possible.
- Accountable for transportation cost valuation and review for financial accruals.
- Keen ability to analyze large amounts of data (excel based) to identify measurable actions for continuous improvements in shipping costs, packaging and service levels.
- 3+ years of experience in logistics or transportation management.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in updating and maintaining PowerBI dashboards.
- Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
- Experience with international transportation is highly desirable.
- Proven experience managing a logistics team.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in outdoor or furniture industries is a plus.
- Proficiency with logistics management software and tools.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
