WithersRavenel is looking for an experienced, positive, assertive, and self-motivated Business Development Representative to join our team and help us expand our business with a focus on our successful public portfolio. Do you have a track record of success selling professional services to local government entities? This role provides an exciting opportunity to develop a thorough understanding of our business development and sales priorities and collaborate with our Teams to increase WithersRavenel’s footprint in a variety of verticals.
While the location is flexible, you will need to be located within the piedmont region of North Carolina.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning and executing business development outreach and initiatives to build firm awareness, foster a fluid pipeline of opportunities and ultimately secure new business and help create and meet forecasted revenue targets.
- Lead and champion internally the ongoing development of our business development practice including targeted industry involvement.
- Develop internal and external relationships with key stakeholders that support the growth of our lines of business
- Keep abreast of overall business and market trends especially in the metro areas
- Keep abreast of major competitor activities in the marketplace
- Demonstrate consistent growth of sales funnel and maintenance of sales pipeline tracking?
- Development and relationship building of qualified clients
- Effectively present and discuss the value proposition of WithersRavenel in the marketplace and effectively communicate elements of our market differentiators
- Cross sells all our services
- Support with development of proposals once leads have been qualified
- Networking and cold calling
- Executing onsite customer presentations to develop new business
- Aid in negotiating deals with business leaders
- Serve as a champion and ambassador, representing the company among industry groups, competitors, professional organizations, conferences, and trade events
- Seek opportunities to strengthen relationships with existing clients
You will spend most of your time directly interacting with clients, building their confidence in WithersRavenel and promoting our brand throughout North Carolina. However, this position may require traveling to SE Virginia, East Tennessee, South Carolina, and Georgia as business needs arise. These travel requirements are typically manageable via day/overnight trips by car.

- Experience selling engineering/architecture/construction/related services to residential, commercial, and industrial developer clients
- Proven track record with complex business development opportunities; With generating and closing new business; With meeting and consistently exceeding sales goals
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in business, engineering, construction management or related profession?
- Experience in direct sales and competitive selling in multiple industries
- Extensive knowledge of the local business landscape in target market area
- Desire to be a part of a committed team that is focused on further growing and developing our brand
- Ability to analyze complex issues while mapping a prospective client's solution requirements
- Effective oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently with little supervision
- Unassailable ethics and high degree of professionalism in all aspects of conduct?
- CRM familiarity
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions
