SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday-Friday 6-2:30pm

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The Operations Coordinator will work in close coordination with the Operations Coordinator - Mail Clerk and Data Operations Manager, Shelter Directors and other staff in maintaining safe, efficient shelter operations in the following areas; guest mail and packages: compliance with purchasing policies, procedures and contractual requirements; quality assurance via inventory management and inventory tracking/reporting. Purchasing and stocking of supplies. Special events/meeting preparation and set up; tours; and other projects as assigned.
The incumbent will assist the Operations Data Manager working with all PSI shelters and shifts/teams to strategize solutions to bridge gaps between performance in the above areas and established goals/outcomes. The shelter Operations Coordinator will also support the shelter management teams, including directors, shift supervisors and assistant supervisors in setting and adhering to operational shift goals and expectations, including assisting with training compliance/tracking as assigned. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with the following Departments: Purchasing, Finance, Advancement/Volunteers, Facilities, Safety, Security and Food Services. The shelter Operations Coordinator may also support and participate in internal and external meetings to represent the agency and/or shelter teams as assigned.
Education/Training:
Required:
- Undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of one (1) years of documented team lead, supervisory or project coordination experience
- OR
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two (2) years documented team lead, supervisory or project coordination experience
PREFERRED:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree
- Three (3) or more years of team lead, supervisory or project coordination experience
- Experience in data systems, inventory management systems and/or Excel
Knowledge/Experience:
Required:
- Prior experience working with homeless and/or diverse ethnic, racial and low income populations
- Knowledge of addiction and mental health issues
- Strong leadership and organizational skills essential
- Knowledge of, or ability to be trained in, Crisis Prevention and Intervention techniques
- Knowledge of, or ability to be trained in, inventory management systems
- Some understanding of program budgeting processes and monitoring of budgets
- Working knowledge of safety standards and procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as familiarity with common data base systems
- Ability to take initiative
- Commitment to a collaborative work process
- Commitment to a collaborative communication process
