Description

At Leonard's Express, Inc. we are looking to expand our IT Department with a motivated IT Support Technician who wants to help us improve our operations. A great trucking company requires steady back-office support. We need professionals who will keep our drivers and office staff moving, building personal relationships with our staff to keep the family atmosphere of our company strong.


This is a full-time position. The ideal employee should display readiness to proactively work with our existing teams to evaluate their needs, get to the root of the problem, then make a sound decision to resolve the problem. All job duties must be performed in a way that promotes safe practices in accordance with Leonard’s established safety programs.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include:  

  • Assists agents, drivers, and customers with technology related issues regarding the hardware and software Leonard’s Express uses
  • Completes new hire access and termination tasks for all employees, including driving and non-driving employees
  • Maintains the Leonard’s Express phone system
  • Maintains building security systems
  • Maintains video surveillance systems
  • Provides first level desk-side support for users in all locations troubleshooting network, hardware, and other user technology issues
  • Performs application updates across the network
  • Backs up and restores data files
  • Observes, recommends, maintains, and assists in implementing best practices regarding cybersecurity
  • Maintains MS Office 365 environment to ensure accessibility is secured and configured correctly for end users to conduct business operations 
  • Performs regular maintenance for phone systems, computer systems, printers, network systems, and any other technical equipment
  • Participates in weekly off-hours on call rotation
Requirements

The professional skills and abilities an ideal candidate should possess include:

  • Sound organizational, records management, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills, well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work as both an individual contributor and as a team member
  • The ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities and meet assigned deadlines
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, as well as to accept direction on given assignments


Based on the technical and professional responsibilities of the position, the IT Support Technician is required to have:  

  • An associate’s degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and years of experience
  • Proficient with Spiceworks, Microsoft Office 365, Windows OS, N-Able, KnowBe4, Veeam, Sentinel One 


The IT Support Technician is primarily located in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise level, but may experience other physical environments while traveling. Physical requirements include:

  • Using computer hardware and software for extended periods of time (repetitive motion)  
  • Sitting for long periods of time
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
