Job Summary:
As a Pasta Cook at Èlephante, you will be responsible for crafting fresh, high-quality pasta dishes while maintaining the highest culinary standards. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume scratch kitchen, you will be an integral part of the team, ensuring consistency, precision, and excellence in every dish.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Pasta Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a variety of fresh pasta dishes to perfection, following company recipes and plating standards.
  • Station Management: Maintain a clean, organized pasta station, ensuring all mise en place, ingredients, and tools are ready for service.
  • Guest Experience: Ensure orders meet guest preferences and dietary needs with accuracy and care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the culinary team and front-of-house staff to deliver smooth, efficient service.
  • Safety & Sanitation: Follow all health and safety guidelines, maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment that meets Department of Health standards.
  • Communication: Report product needs, station issues, or inventory shortages to chefs and management promptly. Participate in pre-service meetings and training sessions to ensure alignment across the team.
  • Problem-Solving: Address any equipment or kitchen challenges proactively and report them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Professionalism: Represent Èlephante with a positive attitude, demonstrating respect, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a pasta cook or in a high-volume scratch kitchen is required. Culinary training or certification is a plus.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of pasta preparation, food handling, and sanitation practices.
  • Team Player: Collaborative and communicative with all team members, contributing to a positive work environment.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting with the ability to adjust to varying workloads and shifts.
