The Network Administrator will work closely with the Network Engineer to ensure the optimal performance and security of our network infrastructure. The Network Administrator will be responsible for regular network monitoring and maintenance, as well as providing technical support to network users for various issues. They will also document network procedures and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
Functions and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
- Monitor network performance for issues like downtime, slow speeds, or security breaches.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network problems efficiently to minimize disruptions.
- Document network procedures and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures.
- Recommend and implement hardware and software upgrades to improve network performance and security.
- Provide technical support to network users for issues like connectivity problems or software configuration.
- Assist with budgeting efforts for network resources and equipment.
- Stay informed about new technologies and their potential applications for the network.
- Contribute to network design and expansion plans.
- Assist organizational teams as needed to provide end users with the ability to effectively accomplish their operational tasks.
- Keep management informed of project progress and problems, particularly as relates to changes in schedule, resources, or delivery.
- Must be available to be on-call to assist in the event of after hours outages; on-call rotation of after hours support is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prompt & regular attendance required.
- Responsible for following all BSA/OFAC policies and procedures.
Basic Requirements:
- Must have the ability to explain complex technical concepts to users with varying levels of technical knowledge and work collaboratively with users to identify root causes of network issues.
- Must effectively collaborate with IT colleagues on projects, share knowledge, and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to facilitate smooth collaboration.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
- Effective communication and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: BA/BS degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent demonstrated work experience required.
