The Mortgage Advisor is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans to ensure that borrowers receive the best possible customer service and speed of origination. This includes delivering proper disclosures, collecting documentation and customer service. Follows company policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely closing.
This position will be based at our Myers Corner branch.
Essential Duties:
- Works closely with assigned loan processor to promote communication, and to ensure quality service delivery throughout the company, as well as with external customers.
- Utilizes successful marketing and relationship building with realtors, builders, and other business partners by spending at least 60% of your working time out of the office to network and originate mortgage loans to meet or exceed an agreed upon mortgage production goal as well as all required legal lending guidelines.
- Maintains a complete and thorough knowledge of products, secondary market guidelines, individual investor guidelines, company policies and procedures and following all regulatory procedures including RESPA, Dodd-Frank, etc.
- Cross-sells bank products when given the opportunity
- Attends staff meetings/trainings
- Takes education classes as assigned by the company through the ABA
- Provides all mortgage clients with knowledgeable mortgage advice that will benefit the client
- Locks interest rates for the appropriate timeframe and ensuring they do not expire
- Structures mortgage loans and inputting them into loan origination software
- Obtains and reviews consumer credit reports
- Ensures loans are approved through the appropriate AUS system
- Sends disclosures to borrowers in the required timeframes
- Collects initial documentation from borrowers (paystubs, tax returns, assets, etc.)
- Updates and advises all parties involved in the mortgage transaction
- Maintains complete discretion and confidence of all information pertaining to loan packages and client’s personal information.
- Performs other related work as required.
- Maintains regular, reliable attendance.

- Strong knowledge of PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and loan origination software.
Education and/or Experience (Required and Preferred)
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of two years’ experience in loan origination or account executive/sales position. Desire previous secondary market loan origination experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- NMLS registration

Position Type/Hours:
This is a full-time, exempt level position working Monday – Friday with other days and hours as necessary to accomplish duties.
Travel:
May be asked to travel to other branches or training opportunities using own transportation.
