Role Overview:
GEO Academies is seeking dynamic, student-centered individuals to join our team as GEO Teaching Fellows in the Spring of 2025, with the opportunity to lead teach in the 25-26 school year. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about education who are eager to develop their teaching skills in a high-impact environment. As a GEO Teaching Fellow, you will learn GEO’s proven, highly effective academic model to support our mission of closing achievement gaps and preparing students for college and career success. Teaching Fellows work closely with Executive Teachers, receive ongoing professional development, participate in peer-learning cohorts, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive school community.
Pathway Options:
- Experienced Educators:
- Teachers with prior classroom experience looking to bring their expertise to GEO Academies.
- Participate in tailored onboarding to learn and implement GEO’s proven instructional models and school culture.
- Serve as role models and mentors for colleagues while continuing to refine and grow their teaching practice.
- Novice Educators:
- Aspiring educators with minimal teaching experience, committed to learning and growing.
- Receive hands-on mentorship, support, and training to develop effective teaching skills and strategies.
- Engage in peer learning communities to build confidence and competence in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support: Partner with lead teachers in delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that promotes student engagement and mastery of grade-level content.
- Student Intervention: Provide small group and individualized instruction to support targeted intervention and enrichment.
- Professional Development: Participate in GEO’s TAP Development System, including regular coaching, data-driven professional learning communities, and observation-feedback cycles.
- Peer Learning Communities: Actively participate in collaborative professional development sessions, working with peers to share best practices, plan lessons, and address challenges collectively.
- Community Engagement: Collaborate with families, community partners, and staff to foster a culture of learning, trust, and shared responsibility.

Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree (required).
- Pass required background check.
- A passion for working with students, particularly in high-need schools.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a growth mindset.
- Prior experience in education or related fields is a plus for experienced candidates, but not required for new teachers.
