The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This role will oversee all aspects of the company’s operations, ensuring that the business achieves its strategic objectives and operates efficiently and effectively. All department heads will report to the COO, making this role integral in aligning cross-functional efforts and fostering a culture of collaboration and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support the company’s vision, mission, and goals.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
- Optimize manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and resource allocation to enhance productivity and profitability.
Team Management
- Provide leadership and guidance to department heads, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure clear communication of organizational goals and priorities across all departments.
- Mentor and develop the leadership team to strengthen the company’s operational capabilities.
Strategic Planning
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute short- and long-term strategic plans.
- Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
- Identify opportunities for growth and expansion, including new product development, market entry, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Financial Oversight
- Work closely with the finance team to manage budgets, forecast operational costs, and achieve financial targets.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks to safeguard the company’s assets and reputation.
Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
- Support customer relationships by ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products and services.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align operational capacity with market demand.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing or a related industry.
- Proven track record of driving operational excellence and achieving measurable business outcomes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality assurance.
- Demonstrated experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), including due diligence and integration.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Proficiency in data analysis, performance metrics, and operational reporting tools.
