This position will be part of the Marketing team and report to the VP of Marketing & Communications. The Communications & Content Specialist is responsible for creating and distributing compelling content across various channels to effectively communicate the organization’s message to both internal and external audiences. This may include press releases, blog posts, social media posts, internal newsletters and more while engaging in public relations efforts to maintain and grow a positive brand image.
Responsibilities
- Write and edit engaging content for various platforms such as press releases, social media, website, advertorials, newsletters, and internal communications
- Assist with development of long-form content such as blog posts, thought leadership pieces, key presentations and more
- Heighten visibility of executive team, other key leaders and 365 Retail Markets as a whole through earned media opportunities
- Craft compelling narratives around 365’s success with current customers and opportunities for new vertical expansion
- Research and develop relevant content topics aligned with business growth objectives and marketing campaigns
- Focus on delivering clear and consistent messages across various platforms
- Manage an editorial calendar to ensure consistent content and flow that aligns with marketing and company initiatives
- Work with the VP of Marketing & Communications and HR leadership to develop and create internal communications strategies and content
- Translate external marketing messages (e.g. product launches) to internal announcements that effectively communicate initiatives across the organization
- Oversee the development and execution of company-wide employee meetings
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, respond to media inquiries and manage press releases
- Monitor and manage online brand reputation
- Manage award submissions for the company
- Serve as the organization's primary copywriter, responsible for reviewing, editing, and refining both internal and external materials, including outbound communications and marketing collateral, as requested.
- Leverage analytics and reports to determine effectiveness of communications efforts and identify areas for improvement
- Other duties as assigned by the VP of Marketing & Communications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field required, with 3-5 years of related experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Understanding of available distribution platforms (social media, websites, PR distribution software, etc.) and their effectiveness in reaching given audiences
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively both within the Marketing team and cross-functionally
- Demonstrated ability to engage with senior executives, secure project buy-in and drive successful execution.
