LOCATION: IA, GA, UT, MO, AZ, TX, FL, NY

EDUCATION: BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

EXPERIENCE: 2-4 years designing, building, and maintaining data processing systems


Position Overview

The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the data infrastructure for CCR Media (CCRM). This role will collaborate with Product, Engineering and Solution Architecture to ensure that CCRM has an efficient and performant data pipeline that enables collecting, processing, analyzing, and visualizing large amounts of data from various sources.


Responsibilities

  • Designing data structures for in-house developed software
  • Collaborating with architects & developers to plan and implement high-performing, maintainable data solutions
  • Designing data warehouses
  • Developing ETL pipelines for COTS products, custom software and unstructured data
  • Building processes to collect and collate data from multiple sources, ensuring its accuracy and integrity when stored; including connections to: external databases, APIs, log files, flat files, AWS S3 buckets, etc.
  • Design, develop and deploy scalable, high volume real-time data solutions (dashboards, alerts, data feeds, message queues, etc.)
  • Fulfilling ad-hoc requests for custom data queries and analytics
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and root cause analysis for data-related technical issues 
  • Ensuring the accuracy of data
  • Promoting data quality
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements; including redesigning existing data structures and data pipelines for greater scalability, more efficient data delivery, and automation of manual processes
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers by making their needs a primary focus
  • Responding to telephone calls, emails and tickets with professionalism and courtesy within established response guidelines
  • Entering time and expenses in CCR systems as it occurs and submitting them for approval by the designated deadline
  • Managing your own performance to achieve expected results
  • Exemplifying and promoting CCR values 
  • Actively demonstrating reliability by maintaining a consistent work schedule
  • 24x7 on-call responsibilities on rotating basis including weekends and holidays
  • Performing other duties as assigned


Technical Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in computer science, information technology and engineering
  • Strong knowledge of data architectures, systems, and tools 
  • Proven experience with Microsoft SQL, Python, Excel, Tableau and other relevant data engineering techniques and toolsets
  • Experience with big data tools such as MongoDB, Kafka, and Hadoop
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Experience building or maintaining ETL processes
  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience in statistics, applied math or related disciplines
  • Able to train users in how to use our data sets and tools to enable effective analysis and data driven decision making
